Today is Valentine’s Day and we’re thinking about food. Those special times when you wanna serve a meal, but your picky eater will just not go for it. I’ll have that post for you tomorrow.
I just have to tell you how today started. Well, we have to go back to yesterday. No. Tuesday…
Israel had announced to his teacher that “Mommy makes cards!” — which I kinda do, but it’s more like invitations and such for the events I create — and that he and Mommy would be making “Bawentime” cards for his friends at school. I was all about it!!
But, yesterday, we kinda ran out of time because Mommy and Daddy were so excited about getting a great big huge mixer for Daddy’s bread-making adventure. The day just got away from us, so I decided to make Valentine’s for Israel’s class after everyone went to bed.
They were ADORABLE. Seriously.
Israel’s reaction: “Bawentime cards need red hearts, not pirates, Mommy.”
Me: entirely deflated.
I had just known he was going to love these!!
Now, this is at 8am, Valentine morning, and school starts at 9:15. So, we rush to Target and Sponge Bob saves the day. Good thing they were cheap!
Lesson learned: ask the kid.
And perhaps I can use these printables for some other occasion…
What are some dumb mistakes — yet funny memories — you’ve made?
