She’s been asking to go to school since The Stinkerelly started the 3-year-old class last year; we love his school and would’ve placed her in a class then, had they had one for her. Well, starting this year, they’ve added a 2-year-old class and this child could not be any happier!
I am bittersweet about it. I find myself missing her, sitting in the parking lot 10 minutes early waiting to go to her classroom door to get her. (That could also have something to do with the scheduling issues I haven’t totally worked out yet.) As an extremely independent woman, having these little people rely wholly on me to provide their every meal, activity, outlook on life… well, it’s exhausting! My kids certainly have no danger of having a “helicopter mom”. “Tiger mom”? Maybe… So I’m definitely relishing the 6 child-free hours per week!! Productivity, here I come!! I miss her, but I wish she could go every day. HA!
I’m still searching for that seemingly-ellusive pocket in our rhythm. I have literally only been to the gym 4 times in the last month. BLEAH! But I’ll figure it out … and I’ll remember (before we pull into the school parking lot) to make the boy’s lunch … eventually.
So here are the girl’s first day of school gems. ❤
She’s been playing around with facial expressions instead of a big beautiful smile when I say “say ‘cheese'”. At some point, she’ll smile for pictures again, right??
For the record, we didn’t buy a new outfit for school. Why bother, when she’s got super cute clothes that she loves right there in her closet? We did buy her some new sneakers and her backpack; which she, of course, had to show off. She’s such a sweet girl! I am truly enjoying the unveiling of this little person. Group hug! 🙂
